Cybersecurity Isn't Just About Outside Threats. It's About Protecting Firms From Themselves
Kermit Wallace was quoted in The American Lawyer article, "Cybersecurity Isn't Just About Outside Threats. It's About Protecting Firms From Themselves." The article discusses that recent efforts have helped close security gaps brought on by the pandemic, some still question whether firms are truly prepared for evolving threats on the horizon, especially with hybrid work arrangements gaining momentum.
"Purse strings are looser now when it comes to cybersecurity asks," states Wallace, CIO at Day Pitney. In addition, he notes that such spending is seen as more essential to the business than ever before. "The cost of bringing in the right cybersecurity tools, and providing the right levels of education for staff and the right time investment—that's certainly something we've seen now [is] seen as simply the cost of doing business."
