Land Use Associate Attorney
Position Overview
Day Pitney's Real Estate, Environmental & Land Use group is seeking an associate with a minimum 3-5 years of land use experience to join our growing team in our Miami, FL office.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience with complex land use and zoning matters in Florida, including, including zoning due diligence, code compliance matters, and preparing/filing applications for administrative and public hearing approvals in jurisdictions within Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and/or Palm Beach County. Experience with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing matters and affordable housing tax credits, is a plus.
Day Pitney's Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use group represents developers, sellers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, and lenders in connection with the acquisition, sale, development, and leasing of real estate and related financing. Our team offers a full spectrum of legal services and provides legal counsel to a broad range of commercial enterprises, including financial institutions, utilities (energy, water, telecommunications), Fortune 500 companies, manufacturing companies, academic institutions, hospitality and retail companies, religious organizations, lending institutions, property owners, and real estate developers.
Day Pitney's policies offer a hybrid in-office / remote work schedule to provide our attorneys with greater flexibility.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience with complex land use and zoning matters in Florida
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
- Excellent technical, professional and client service skills
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills
- Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient in Spanish desirable
- Member of the Florida Bar in good standing (required)
