Day Pitney's Rosendo Garza, Jr. Honored with Citizen of the Law Award by Connecticut Bar Association

Day Pitney proudly announces that Senior Associate Rosendo Garza, Jr. has been honored with the Citizen of the Law Award by the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), a distinction recognizing individuals who have made significant voluntary contributions to charitable and/or public service causes. The award was presented to him at the CBA’s “Celebrate with the Stars” ceremony on April 9.

According to the CBA, recipients of the award must be a judge, attorney, or paralegal who is a member of the CBA; make a significant contribution to a charitable or public service cause that does not involve professional legal skills but provides inspiration and benefits the needy, society, the environment, or overall quality of life; and undertake activities on a non-professional, charitable basis with little or no personal economic reward, involving some level of personal sacrifice. We are proud to see his efforts recognized with this well-deserved honor.”

Before specializing in energy law, Garza worked as a litigator, handling cases involving unfair trade practices, contract disputes, and product liability.

A lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Garza completed three Iraq tours and one in Afghanistan as an infantry officer. His commitment to service extends to his pro bono work, including representing military veterans in landlord-tenant disputes and assisting with discharge upgrades, among other impactful initiatives. Garza’s dedication to justice and advocacy reflects his passion for making a meaningful difference in both his professional and personal endeavors.

Garza is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Vice President of the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association, and a member of the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association. He is also the Secretary of the board of directors at the Chrysalis Center.
