Emma K. Pletenycky Receives 2025 New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section Rising Star Fellowship
Day Pitney proudly announces that Emma K. Pletenycky, a Private Client Associate in the firm's New York office, has received the 2025 New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) Trusts and Estates Law Section Rising Star Fellowship. The Fellowship was presented to her at the NYSBA's annual meeting luncheon reception on January 15.

In her practice, Pletenycky assists high net worth individuals and families with trust and estate planning, including preparing wills and trusts, drafting Surrogate's Court documents, and assisting clients with all aspects of estate and trust administration. Before joining Day Pitney, Pletenycky served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rita Mella, Surrogate of New York County, where she drafted decisions and conferred on complex and novel issues before the court in contested probate and administration proceedings. While in law school, she served as administrator of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit's mediation program, interned for the Honorable Peter J. Kelly, Surrogate of Queens County, and the Honorable Laura Visitacion-Lewis (Ret.), Justice of the New York County Supreme Court. Pletenycky is the vice-chair of the New York State Bar Association's Trusts and Estates Law Section Mediation Committee.
In September 2024, Pletenycky was recognized with a City Bar Justice Center's (CBJC) 2024 Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award for her work with the CBJC's Planning and Estates Law Project. For more information about the CBJC or the award, click here.
