On March 26, 2013, Day Pitney sponsored an initial informational meeting for the Muslim Law Students Association at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Over twenty law students were in attendance. Director of Diversity Asker A. Saeed attended as guest speaker and said a few words about the importance of organizations like a Muslim Law Students Association that not only serve as an affinity organization but also as a means to open dialogue between people of different faiths and backgrounds. The Association plans to hold panel presentations and other events designed to raise awareness and understanding about Islam and Muslims in America.
