Brad Gallant and Darren Wallace Speak at ACTEC New England Regional Meeting
Brad Gallant and Darren Wallace will be presenters at the 2017 American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) New England Regional Meeting, taking place on September 8-10.
Gallant will discuss recent developments in Connecticut and Massachusetts in the treatment of funded trusts incident to divorce. There have been very important decisions on this topic in the last two years, including the Connecticut Supreme Court rulings in the Powell-Ferri and Powell cases on August 8, 2017. Rebecca Iannantuoni and Brad both will also be speaking on this topic at the Federal Tax Institute of New England next month.
Wallace's topic is state fiduciary income taxation, and the talk is entitled "New England FIT Bits: Do your trusts move as easily as your clients?" His panel will focus on tax traps and opportunities for trusts established in the New England states by and for mobile clients.
