Legal Updates for Mortgage Lenders and Servicers

Day Pitney is hosting a CLE webinar series for mortgage lenders and servicers, which will include three insightful sessions, covering updates in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts; the use of artificial intelligence; and cybersecurity concerns. In the first installment, Legal Updates for Mortgage Lenders and Servicers, our panelists, Christina A. Livorsi, Alfred W. J. Marks and Michael K. Lane discussed current trends in litigation, and legislative and case law updates affecting foreclosure, servicing, and debt collection practices. The topics covered included:
  • New York statute of limitations issues in the wake of the Foreclosure Abuse Prevention Act;
  • the next generation of issues plaguing foreclosures in New York;
  • the good, the bad, and the (potentially ugly) of the New Jersey Community Preservation Program; and
  • common mistakes with notary acknowledgments in Massachusetts and their impact on non-judicial foreclosures.
This lunch-and-learn session was held on Thursday, February 29, 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m., and offered 1.5 NY CLE credits to attendees.
