Day Pitney's Edgardo Ramos Nominated for Federal Judgeship

Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that Edgardo Ramos, a partner in its White Collar Defense and Internal Investigations practice, has been nominated for a seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The announcement was made by the White House on Wednesday.

Ramos has been a partner at Day Pitney since 2002, representing corporations and individuals in federal and state criminal investigations and prosecutions. He previously served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, where he prosecuted a wide array of violations, including public corruption, defense contractor fraud, and money laundering. Since 2003, Ramos has also served as a commissioner on the New York City Commission to Combat Police Corruption.

If confirmed, Ramos would join a long line of former Day Pitney lawyers who have entered the judiciary. Most notable among them, is former Supreme Court Justice William Brennan. The list also includes Judges Stefan Underhill, Vanessa Bryant and Christopher Droney, of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Droney has been nominated for a seat on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
