Day Pitney Client Receives Probation in Expert-Network Case

Jim DeVita and Mark Morgan scored a victory in federal court in New York on Sept. 7, when client Don Chu, a former employee of Primary Global Research, was sentenced to two years probation for insider trading in connection with the expert network's business of arranging meetings between industry consultants and its hedge fund clients. Chu pleaded guilty in June and faced up to 25 years in prison. At sentencing, however, Judge Jed Rakoff said jail was not warranted.

Day Pitney's involvement in the case, as well as comments from Jim, were noted in various publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and Law360.
