Williams v. American Auto Logistics

Kevin J. Duffy was mentioned in an article, "Williams v. American Auto Logistics," in The New Jersey Law Journal. Duffy, representing Lamar Williams, recently prevailed before the Supreme Court of New Jersey in a lawsuit filed by Williams against a shipping company based upon water damage to Mr. Williams' car. The lawsuit was the subject of two trials and two appeals since its commencement in 2010. The significance of the Court's holding is that trial courts may not deprive civil litigants of a jury trial as a sanction for failure to comply with procedural rules. Duffy argued before the Supreme Court of New Jersey on Williams' behalf on April 25, 2016.
