Leigh Newman to Receive 2019 Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award Honoring North American Jewish Women Leaders
Partner Leigh A. Newman has been selected by the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford to receive the Jewish Federations of North America's 2019 Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award. Newman is the Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford and a member and past Chair of Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford's Board of Directors.
Since 2004, the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award has honored women leaders who set a high standard for philanthropy and volunteerism. It was created as a tribute to Norma Kipnis-Wilson and Toby Friedlandz, who co-founded the Lion of Judah program in 1972. Lions of Judah who have demonstrated a lifetime of commitment to the Jewish world are selected by their peers to receive the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award, which will be presented to Newman at the biennial International Lion of Judah Conference in January 2019.
