Rebecca Iannantuoni Accepts Pro Bono Award From Connecticut Bar Association
Day Pitney Partner Rebecca A. Iannantuoni accepted one of The Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo Pro Bono Awards for 2024 from the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) at its "Celebrate the Stars" Annual Awards Celebration on April 3. Iannantuoni was one of four recipients recognized for their demonstrated dedication to providing pro bono legal services to those in need.
The award is named in honor of the Honorable Anthony V. DeMayo, who tirelessly fought for fundamental fairness and championed the legal rights of the poor and accused. The award recognizes CBA members who are not employed by a legal aid or similar nonprofit organization. For more information, click here.
"I am deeply humbled and so grateful to receive this Pro Bono Award from the CBA. I feel that the practice of law is not just a profession for me but an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most," said Iannantuoni. "This award does not belong to just me; rather, it is a celebration of the collective efforts to ensure access to legal services. I am continually inspired to do my part in building a legal system that serves everyone."
Iannantuoni, a New Haven-based partner in the firm's Private Client Department, represents fiduciaries, handles estate administration, and advises individuals and families regarding all aspects of estate planning with a particular focus on elder law and planning for persons with special needs. She also has extensive experience assisting clients with Title XIX Medicaid planning. In addition to her practice, Iannantuoni has lectured on special needs planning to various organizations and provides public service announcements on behalf of the Department of Children and Families to advocate for the foster and adoption of special needs children.

Iannantuoni is the Legal Supervisor of Yale Law School's Palliative and Geriatric Medical Legal Partnerships. She also provides pro bono legal representation to children through the Lawyers for Children America, Inc. ("LFCA"). (Day Pitney received the 2023 Connecticut Law Firm Award from LFCA.) Iannantuoni was awarded Day Pitney's 2019 Coleman Award for her exemplary service and dedication to pro bono work and is a member of the firm's Pro Bono Committee. Iannantuoni also serves on the Board of Directors for Fellowship Place in New Haven and is a member of the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys and the CBA's Estates and Probate Section – Elder Law Section.
Iannantuoni earned her B.A. from Manhattanville College, with Departmental Honors, and her J.D., cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut.
