Day Pitney Welcomes Hartford Tax Partner Ryan Leichsenring
Ryan Leichsenring has joined Day Pitney as a Tax Partner in the firm's Hartford office. This news follows other recent lateral hire announcements for the firm as part of its ongoing strategic growth initiatives, which have resulted in expansion across the areas of corporate, litigation, tax, real estate, trusts and estates, energy, and healthcare in multiple geographies.
"Ryan's experience will continue to enhance our firm's ability to deliver exceptional service across our Corporate and Private Client departments. In particular, Ryan's tax-exempt, multistate tax and controversy experience will support our clients' intricate deal structures and will further strengthen our team and elevate our capabilities to serve our clients across the firm," said R. Scott Beach, chair of the Corporate and Business Law department.
Leichsenring's practice focuses on advising tax-exempt organizations on federal and state tax law issues, corporate structuring/formation, board governance, charitable asset management, information reporting, and unrelated business taxable income strategy and planning. He regularly advises businesses and individuals on multistate taxation issues, tax planning, enforcement and collection defense, and other federal and state tax controversies. He also advises healthcare clients on the constantly shifting tax rules specific to the healthcare industry.

Leichsenring is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, where he serves on the Tax Section Executive Committee and as its Secretary/Treasurer, the American Bar Association, and the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services External Advisory Board. He is also on the State Tax Committee of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Tax & Finance Committee of the Connecticut Business & Industry Association. Leichsenring is active in the local community through his various board positions, including his roles on the Advisory Board of the Connecticut Retirement Security Authority and as a director of Lea's Foundation for Leukemia Research, Inc. He earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, and his J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut.
