Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that New Jersey Partner Kevin J. Duffy has been selected for inclusion on the 2024 NJBIZ Forty Under 40 Awards list. Duffy, a commercial litigator, represents and advises clients in cases involving contracts, commercial real estate, consumer protection claims, fraud, and negligence. Honorees will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on September 12 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Somerset, N.J.

Duffy has litigated complex disputes in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey, successfully argued before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and represented his client's interests in arbitration and mediation. He is also passionate about pro bono service and community involvement. Duffy serves as co-chair of the Day Pitney Alliance, the firm's LGBTQ+ affinity group, and recently helped spearhead the firm's partnership with the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, through which volunteer attorneys represent low-income LGBTQ+ individuals in connection with name change petitions.  He is a trustee of the West Orange Scholarship Fund and a member of the National LGBT Bar Association and the New Jersey Pride Chamber. Duffy earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Emerson College and his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law.

Launched in 2006, the NJBIZ Forty Under 40 program recognizes 40 professionals under the age of 40 for their notable successes and demonstrations of leadership that are shaping the economic future of New Jersey. NJBIZ hosts a variety of award programs designed to recognize professionals from various New Jersey industries. An independent panel of judges selects NJBIZ Forty Under 40 honorees after an open nomination process based on their business accomplishments, volunteerism, education, and additional honors.
