Day Pitney's Health Care, Life Sciences and Technology practice continues to grow!  Recently joining the team are Counsel, Laura Himelstein, and Associates, Jacob Buttiker, Maryann Lennon and Fariha Syed.

Day Pitney, Technology Counsel, Laura Himelstein, joined the firm in November 2024 and brings over 20 years of extensive experience in technology, outsourcing, partnerships, SaaS, licensing, and other complex transactions, policies, and projects, making her a significant addition to the firm's technology law capabilities.  In addition to her work in technology transactions and outsourcing, Laura will bring her significant privacy and cybersecurity expertise to Day Pitney's Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation team. She holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional certification (CIPP/US) and regularly advises on privacy policies, data security incidents, and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, GDPR, and data protection laws. She also has experience providing legal counsel to vendor management teams and running deep dives into privacy by design projects.

Day Pitney Associate, Jacob Buttiker, joined the firm in October 2024 after graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Quinnipiac University School of Law in May of 2024. Jacob's interest in technology and the debate around data as a commodity drew him to Day Pitney's Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Law practice. During his time as a student Jacob interned for Yale University's Chief Privacy Officer, Sony Group Corporation's Privacy Team, and the Connecticut Office of the Attorney General Privacy Division. Jacob is certified as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Outside of the office, Jacob is an avid snowboarder and motorcyclist.

Day Pitney Associate, Maryann Lennon, joined the firm in October 2024. Maryann is originally from Long Island, New York. She graduated from Boston University in 2020 and earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2024. After working as a summer associate with Day Pitney in our Miami office in 2023, Maryann returned to the northeast and is now located in our New Jersey office, where she joined the Healthcare Life Sciences and Technology practice.

Day Pitney Associate, Fariha Syed, joined the firm in November 2024 and is an associate in the Healthcare Life Sciences and Technology practice in our New Jersey office. Prior to joining the firm, Fariha worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP's New York City office where her practice focused on corporate transactions. Fariha recently moved to New Jersey and enjoys exploring her new state. She is a mission to travel to as many national parks as possible.
