Overview

Carly M. Clinton assists clients in a broad spectrum of land use and redevelopment matters, providing comprehensive representation to developers, investors, nonprofits, and institutional clients. She adeptly navigates municipal and county planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment on behalf of clients, securing essential land use approvals. Carly also represents redevelopers and works closely with municipal governments to designate areas in need of redevelopment, adoption of redevelopment plans, negotiation and execution of redevelopment agreements, and the entry of long-term and short-term tax agreements. In addition, Carly's experience extends to commercial real estate transactions, encompassing the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties. Her skills include drafting letters of intent, negotiating contracts, conducting due diligence, managing financing, and overseeing closings.

Beyond her experience in land use and commercial real estate, Carly has a wealth of experience representing community associations in New Jersey and New York. Her practice covers a broad spectrum of issues, including general counsel matters, litigation, real estate, and lending. Carly also has a background in representing lending banks in various transactions, handling loans for cooperatives, condominiums, and investment properties. Her litigation experience extends to disputes over construction defects, representing both boards and developers. Carly's experience also spans landlord-tenant matters, involving right of succession proceedings, non-primary residence proceedings, nuisance cases, licensee proceedings, and lease expiration holdovers.
