Overview
Our Telecommunications and Cable Regulation practice group helps some of the nation's largest telecommunications and cable companies navigate the rapidly changing legislative and regulatory landscape. As regulators work hard to keep pace with ever-evolving technologies, these companies seek the counsel of Day Pitney attorneys to shape and comply with changing requirements.
Day Pitney's attorneys serve as counsel to communications providers in mergers and acquisitions and legislative and regulatory matters related to communications policy and system deployment that influence the country's communications future.
Our lawyers bring extensive experience from a variety of disciplines to provide cutting-edge advice to traditional telecommunications companies as well as related media, information and interactive services companies. Our clients in the communications industry include major regional telephone companies, cellular telephone companies, personal communication service providers, wireless and cable subscription television operators, international satellite telecommunications companies, television and radio stations, subscription television content providers, Internet companies, equipment and technology providers, and institutional investors and lenders. We have a thorough understanding of and an appreciation for the nature of these businesses and the special legal challenges they face.

- Served as principal Connecticut regulatory counsel to Comcast Cable Corporation and Comcast Phone of Connecticut since 1996, including for its mergers with AT&T Broadband and the Time Warner/Comcast/Adelphia transaction
- Served as regulatory counsel to Charter Communications in New England
- Served as regulatory counsel in Connecticut and Massachusetts to the New England Cable and Telecommunications Association Inc., a trade association that represents substantially all private cable operators in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont
- Served as regulatory counsel to the CTIA, the international association of the wireless communications industry for both wireless carriers and manufacturers, whose members include commercial mobile radio service providers and manufacturers, including cellular providers T-Mobile, Sprint, AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless, as well as providers and manufacturers of wireless data services and products
- Represented Atlantic Broadband in its acquisition of MetroCast of Connecticut Inc.
