  On July 19, Day Pitney LLP co-sponsored an affinity bar mixer along with the South Asian Bar Association of Connecticut (SABAC), the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA), the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA), the Crawford Black Bar Association (Crawford) and the Lawyers' Collaborative for Diversity (LCD). The first of its kind event was held at Day Pitney's Hartford, CT office, and brought together approximately 85 attendees from these organizations as well as from the Connecticut Bar Association and the Hartford County Bar Association. In addition, representatives from the Attorney General's office, the U.S. Attorney's office, students and faculty from Western New England University and the University of Connecticut law schools, Day Pitney clients and attorneys from other law firms in Connecticut were in attendance. They enjoyed networking over cocktails and international hors d'oeuvres. Day Pitney fosters diversity and inclusiveness within the firm and the communities it serves, and a number of its attorneys hold leadership positions with affinity bars in Connecticut. Partner Namita Tripathi Shah, chair of Day Pitney's Private Equity and Finance business unit, currently serves as President of SABAC; partner Marie Caroline Bertrand is President of CHBA and Secretary of LCD; associate Delania Barbee is President of Crawford; associate Anna Matsuo is Vice President of CAPABA and associate Rosendo Garza, Jr. is the Treasurer of CHBA. Also, this year, Day Pitney was ranked among the top 50 law firms in The National Law Journal (NLJ) 500: Women's Scorecard, published by American Lawyer Media. In addition, Day Pitney was ranked among the top 20 law firms for gender diversity in The American Lawyer's A-List.
