Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Issues Two Major Final Rules on Transmission Planning and Siting
On May 13, 2024, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued a landmark order, Order No. 1920, on long-term regional transmission planning and cost allocation that requires comprehensive, forward-looking planning to address reliability, economic and public policy transmission needs. Order No. 1920 will have a major impact on transmission planning and development for the future.
