Lane Watson is Quoted by Reuters on Chinese Bid for Chesapeake Energy Corp.
Lane Watson is quoted in a Reuters article about an expected government review of the proposed acquisition by CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) of a stake in a shale oil field owned by Chesapeake Energy. Lane noted that because this would be an investment, rather than an outright purchase, the Chinese company should have a better chance to win approval from the U.S. government than it did with its 2005 failed bid to acquire Unocal.
