Day Pitney Client Seeks Federal Waiver to Bring Power Transmission Project Online

Day Pitney's representation of the developers of a planned New Mexico transmission line to connect renewable projects in the central part of the state was reported on by Law360. The developers of the proposed $350 million project, which has private equity backing from Goldman Sachs, are hoping to speed up their quest to bring new wind and solar energy to the western energy markets. A filing has been made with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to permit New Mexico's largest utility to study and grant transmission service to the project before that utility considers other generation projects that are ahead of the project in line for such studies and service. Dave Doot, Eric Runge and Jennifer Galiette are advising the project on regulatory matters.
