David W. Bogan Joins Day Pitney, Bolstering the Firm's Energy Practice
New York, NY – David W. Bogan has joined Day Pitney as an Energy partner in the firm's Boston and Hartford offices. He was previously a partner at Locke Lord LLP.
"David is one of the 'go-to' lawyers for high profile utility regulatory proceedings in New England, and he is seen as a real leader among public utility lawyers in the region," said Managing Partner Thomas D. Goldberg. "His addition to our firm will further advance our rapidly growing state regulatory practice and further solidify our robust public utility practice in the Northeast."
Bogan's practice encompasses all aspects of public utility regulation before state administrative agencies and state and federal courts, and he advises some of the nation's largest energy, cable, telecommunications and water companies on regulatory issues and acquisitions. He has experience in telecommunications certification proceedings; electric, gas, water and telecommunications rate proceedings; and competitive retail supply licensing and regulation.
"I'm thrilled to offer a platform to my clients that meets their needs so comprehensively," said Bogan. "Throughout my career, I've had positive interactions with many Day Pitney partners, and saw this opportunity as a way to further support energy and telecommunications clients' needs in additional disciplines, such as real estate, environmental and land use, and regional litigation."
Bogan is involved with several relevant professional organizations, including currently being the co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association, New England Chapter Steering Committee, and serving on the board of directors of Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity. Additionally, he previously served as Treasurer of the Connecticut Bar Association. Bogan is an elected councilor in the Town of Barnstable, Massachusetts; chair of the board of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence; and is currently or has served on the board of directors/trustees for Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity Independence House, Goodspeed Musicals, and the Connecticut Bar Foundation.
Bogan received his B.S. in Finance and Banking, cum laude, from the University of Bridgeport, and his J.D. from the Quinnipiac University School of Law. He is admitted in Connecticut; Washington, DC; Massachusetts; and New York.
