Day Pitney LLP is pleased to announce that Laura Land Himelstein has joined the firm as Counsel in both the Technology, Telecommunications and Outsourcing and the Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation practice groups, based in the New York and Stamford offices. Himelstein brings over 20 years of extensive experience in technology, outsourcing, partnerships, SaaS, licensing, and other complex transactions, policies, and projects, making her a significant addition to the firm's capabilities.

Before joining Day Pitney, Himelstein served as a vice president and senior legal counsel at two leading outsourcing companies and as product counsel for a Silicon Valley company. There, she played an instrumental role in negotiating complex technology, SaaS, and outsourcing transactions, including advising on artificial intelligence, automation, privacy, cyber security, data analytics, and data governance issues.

"We are thrilled to welcome Laura to our team," said Richard D. Harris, chair of the firm's Technology, Telecommunications and Outsourcing practice group. "Laura's deep knowledge in privacy and cybersecurity is a tremendous asset to our team," commented William Roberts, co-chair of the Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation practice group. "Her ability to advise clients on privacy and data protection matters across various industries will expand our team's capabilities to address the growing concerns around data privacy and security."

Himelstein's practice at Day Pitney will focus on technology transactions, SaaS, licensing, privacy, and cybersecurity issues, as well as complex outsourcing and partnerships involving emerging technologies. She also will handle advisory matters on mergers, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and financing deals involving companies that rely on technology, data, and intellectual property.

Himelstein earned her B.A. in Philosophy from Yale University and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut and has the CIPP/US certification.
