Overview
Kritika Bharadwaj is a partner in the firm’s Technology, Telecommunications and Outsourcing practice group and member of the firm’s Data Privacy, Protection and Litigation group. She is the Chair of Day Pitney’s Artificial Intelligence Committee.
Kritika’s legal practice focuses on transactions and advisory in relation to technology, data and intellectual property. She represents national and global corporations, as well as emerging companies across a variety of industries, including technology, energy and utilities, healthcare and life sciences, banking and finance, telecom, manufacturing, fashion and consumer products. She is extensively experienced in structuring and negotiating complex, multiyear, multimillion dollar and business-critical deals involving the development, licensing, outsourcing, procurement and provision of technology and related services. She also advises on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances and financing involving companies that are driven by or reliant on technology, data and intellectual property. She regularly advises on matters involving AI, data analytics, e-commerce and digital media, blockchain, digital assets and Web3, and other emerging technology.
In her role as the Chair of the AI Committee, Kritika played an integral role in developing the firm’s policy on responsible use of generative AI tools, and spearheads cross-departmental efforts to encourage utilization of such tools within the firm. As an extension of her technology practice, Kritika also educates and counsels clients on various aspects of AI, including the development or procurement of generative AI tools, and adoption of AI policies. As such, Kritika has emerged as a thought leader on AI within the firm, among the firm’s clients, and externally as well. She has been named to the 2024 Lawdragon 100 Leading Global AI & Legal Tech Advisors list. She was interviewed by the Hartford Business Journal on how attorneys are embracing AI and wrote an article for the New York Law Journal on how generative AI impacts Healthcare. She has also published or presented on AI, topics include NAIC revised model bulletin on AI, AI and the Law, AI and IP, how AI is reshaping the workplace, and Generative AI.
Kritika is an active member of the South Asian Bar Association of New York and New Jersey, and has held various leadership positions in the Board of the organizations. She is dual-qualified to practice in New York and India, and regularly takes on matters involving both countries. Kritika maintains strong ties to the South Asian legal and business communities through participating in bar associations, as well as mentoring young lawyers and entrepreneurs from India. She is fluent in English and Hindi.

Represented a national association for automobile services in connection with various multi-million dollar strategic relationships related to acquisition of business critical technology and collaborations with member clubs
Represented a national retail clothing brand in its proposed acquisition of a business critical software for managing inventory and assortment
Represented one of the largest investment management companies in its negotiations with stock exchanges around the world for license to real-time stock exchange data
Advised a blockchain protocol based supply logistics company in connection with its corporate structuring
Represented a photo equipment retailer in negotiating a private label credit card loyalty program
Representing one of America’s largest national banks in connection with its agreements with media and advertising agencies
Structured and negotiated a complex master services agreement for intelligent demand planning and smart pricing software services through multiple modes of deployment
Structured and negotiated an equipment procurement, hosting and financing deal for the mining of Bitcoins by a private company
Handled trademark prosecution, enforcement, and advising on trademark acquisition strategy in relation to acquisition of banks and financial institutions by a large regional bank
Represented sellers of a marketing platform with tools to create sweepstakes, contests, and giveaways in the sale of its business
Advised a U.S.-based innovative bio-pharma company in relation to its purchase of significant equity stake in an Indian drug development company, and negotiating a collaboration agreement for drug design and development
Represented India's leading developer of power transmission systems in its acquisition of minority stake in a U.S.-based drone solutions provider
Advised a supply chain finance company, and a cancer drug research company, among others, in connection with their Seed Series financing
Advised a clinical data management and clinical programming solutions provider in connection with its acquisition by a global healthcare solutions provider
Advised venture capital funds in connection with several Series A and Series B foreign investments into emerging technology and e-commerce companies in India
Negotiated complex outsourcing contracts for technical research services by a business process outsourcing company
