Overview
Potoula Tournas represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters, internal investigations, governmental proceedings, and enforcement actions. She frequently litigates issues in both federal and state courts related to breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, unfair trade practices and land use issues, among others. Potoula has extensive experience providing critical support during pre-trial motion practice, in discovery disputes and in alternative dispute resolution. Potoula also helps clients respond to and resolve criminal, civil and regulatory investigations brought by federal and state agencies, including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
During law school, Potoula interned with the Honorable Alfred V. Covello in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Prior to law school, Potoula worked in New York as a litigation paralegal at a leading international law firm.
Potoula is passionate about pro bono work. She has successfully represented veterans facing eviction though the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, as well as guardians of incapacitated individuals in probate court to secure necessary medications for their children. Potoula also enjoys mentoring high school and college students interested in law school and legal careers.
