Overview

Potoula Tournas represents clients in commercial litigation matters before state and federal courts. She frequently litigates issues related to landlord-tenant law, breach of contract claims, unfair trade practice claims and the Freedom of Information Act. Potoula has experience in Connecticut and Massachusetts state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations, housing and probate court, and administrative law tribunals, such as the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. She has also extensive experience providing critical support during pre-trial motion practice, in discovery disputes and in alternative dispute resolution.

During law school, Potoula interned with the Honorable Alfred V. Covello in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Prior to law school, Potoula worked in New York as a litigation paralegal at a leading international law firm.

Potoula is passionate about pro bono work. She has successfully represented veterans facing eviction though the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center, as well as guardians of incapacitated individuals in probate court to secure necessary medications for their children. Potoula also enjoys mentoring high school and college students interested in law school and legal careers.
