Day Pitney's Elizabeth Retersdorf Named a Recipient of a Hartford Business Journal 2024 40 Under Forty Award
Day Pitney Insurance and Reinsurance Partner Elizabeth P. Retersdorf has been named a recipient of a Hartford Business Journal 2024 40 Under Forty Award. Retersdorf represents clients in insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes both in court and arbitration, and advises clients on insurance-related regulatory matters, including domestic acquisitions and compliance issues. Retersdorf will receive her award on September 19 at the Awards celebration at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville, CT.

Retersdorf represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex insurance and reinsurance disputes in both litigation and arbitration on issues running the gamut from actions for rescission to disputes concerning allocation of long tail insurance claims. Retersdorf also maintains a strong regulatory practice, representing clients before the Connecticut Insurance Department and advising clients on regulatory matters including insurance holding company system issues, producer licensing, and service contracts. She is recognized in Band 1 by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in Connecticut for Insurance (click here for Chambers USA methodology), and The Best Lawyers in America (click here for The Best Lawyers in America methodology), and she received Day Pitney's Coleman Award for pro bono work in 2020. Retersdorf earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from Rice University and her J.D. from Yale Law School.
