Overview
William "Bill" Jordan provides legal counsel to clients in connection with the financing, acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate. He has very broad experience working on mortgage and mezzanine financings secured by a wide variety of real estate types, real estate debt funds, loan leverage transactions, affordable housing loans, selling loans into public and private securitizations; as well as working-out, modifying and extending loans, enforcing loan documents and foreclosing upon commercial real estate assets. He has more than three decades of experience working on a large number and dollar value of sophisticated mortgage and mezzanine real estate debt investments across the United States. In addition, Bill has significant experience representing clients on large mortgage and mezzanine commercial mortgage loans and construction loans, including loan leverage transactions, intercreditor agreements, participations, modifications and extensions.
Prior to joining Day Pitney, Bill most recently served as a Senior Counsel of an international investment management firm for almost 20 years. He gained extensive experience handling real estate and other related matters. In this role, his involvement in closings included leverage on almost all mortgage investments, consisting of A/B financings, note-on-note financings, as well as Repos and other types of loan facilities, and mortgage/mezzanine loan splits. Bill gained wide-ranging knowledge working very closely and collaboratively with his businesspeople, outside counsel, environmental counsel, and work-out and bankruptcy counsel during several recessions on a wide variety of commercial mortgage property types in most locations across the entire United States.
